How do we present ourselves in pictures, in our profiles? What do these pictures have to do with who we actually are – and how we want to be seen?
The intention of PORTRAIT Project is to create a collection of pictures where it is possible to compare our self presentation in profile pictures, to neutral images of ourselves, where we had less control over the final outcome. This projects is a study of each individual; a study of us creating the image of ourselves.
To help create the collection, I wish for all of you to take part by sending two pictures
1. your current or recent profile picture
2. a passport picture or other similar picture of you
Send your images by e-mail to salla.lahtinen@gmail.com or in pm facebook.com/slahtine
Pictures will be displayed next to each other, forming a combined portrait, and released in a project specific blog ogipp.tumblr.com. The blog will be updated regularly after the project begins.
When sending these images you confirm that you allow me to publish them online in the blog mentioned before, online in other locations, and in printed form, for example in catalogues or other publications. Pictures will be part of an art work.
